MILFORD — March 19, 2026 — Milford School Committee hears MSBA building update, flags reimbursement rate confusion, and considers calendar redesign. At the March 19 meeting, a building committee representative told the school committee that the 77 percent state reimbursement rate widely cited in the community overstates what the Massachusetts School Building Authority will actually pay, noting the figure applies only to an MSBA-approved per-square-foot cost cap — not the full construction bill — with the effective rate coming in "somewhere south" of the headline number; the committee agreed to invite owner's project manager James Riestall to explain the calculation at a future meeting. A non-binding school committee vote on grade configuration — whether the new building will serve grades 7 through 12, 8 through 12, or 9 through 12 — is expected in May, before the MSBA submission deadline of June 18.
