School Committee · Meeting of August 27, 2026

MILFORD — The Milford School Committee unanimously adopted two new fundraising policies and heard that district enrollment dropped by 123 students since June. Superintendent Craig Consigli said the policies, covering fundraising solicitations and student fundraising, will require his office's approval for all fundraisers after some efforts left students "exploited for funds" and facing "borderline harassment." Member Matthew Zacchilli moved to approve both policies, GBEDD and JJE, on first reading, calling the issue "talked about for years." The committee also approved $4,250 in vending-machine funds for student clubs, a $1,381-per-student Stacy Middle School French Club trip, and a side letter paying teachers 20 percent extra to cover a vacant math position. A presenter identified as Josh reported 282 graduates in the Class of 2026, with a projected 67 percent matriculation rate expected to settle near 60 percent once state-verified.
