Milford Schools Pull Switchgear Request, Fund HVAC
School Board · Meeting of September 24, 2026
Milford School Committee pulls a roughly $1 million electrical warrant article, backs $2.5 million for HVAC repairs instead. Members voted unanimously to withdraw a Stacy Middle School switchgear replacement after facilities staff found the equipment did not need full replacement, with one member calling the prior assessment "shocking" and saying the district will test, not replace, the gear there and at two other schools. The committee separately approved $2.5 million for Stacy HVAC work, correcting warrant background language from $6 million to $4.7 million in total project scope, and a $107,000 article to reimburse an employee's military leave salary.
Superintendent Dr. Consigli presented four proposed 2026-27 district goals built around literacy, a new leadership structure, the high school building project, and a new strategic plan, but the committee deferred a vote. The School Building Committee is reviewing new high school design options, with cost estimates due October 2 and a public forum set for October 6.
