Town Meeting · Meeting of October 26, 2026
Milford's Special Town Meeting approved a 15-year tax increment financing deal with Waters Technologies tied to a $58 million campus investment and voted to require special permits for electronic data storage centers. Town Counsel Brian Murray said Waters would save $3.5 million in taxes while the town gains $2.6 million in new revenue over the agreement's life; Waters Vice President Chris Givner said the project retains roughly 1,500 jobs. Member Mike Visconti opposed the TIF, saying past recipients "laughed at us, taking the money they saved on taxes right to the bank." A floor amendment to ban data centers outright in the IB and IC districts, rather than require special permits, failed 56-61; the underlying special-permit article then passed 111-8.
Members also appropriated $2.5 million for Stacy Middle School HVAC repairs, $525,000 for fire department breathing apparatus, and $1,696,187 for the town stabilization fund.
