Milford Select Board declined to participate in state liquor pilot program. The Board voted unanimously against opting into the temporary program signed by Governor Maura Healey on June 8, which would allow on-premises licensees to extend service until 3 a.m. and permit public consumption of alcoholic beverages in designated districts through July 31, 2026. All three board members expressed public safety concerns and stated they saw no benefit to local establishments.
In other business, the Board approved a transfer of the all-alcohol license to Sons of Italy Dramatic & Sportsmen Club and a new package store license for Central Travel Liquor, LLC. Town Administrator Richard A. Villani reported that the Route 109/Beaver Street intersection improvement project is eligible for $2.775 million in federal highway funding.
