Select Board Approves 9.9% Health Insurance Rate Increase

Milford Select Board unanimously approves 9.9% increase in health insurance premiums and 3.3% dental rate hike, effective May 1. Human Resources Director Kristin Melpignano presented the new rates following approval by the Insurance Advisory Committee. The board also unanimously approved the Public Employee Services Agreement, a $20,000 fireworks contract with Ocean State Pyrotechnics, a Live Entertainment License for Tradicao da Roca dba OBA OBA Bar, and a Class II License for secondhand motor-vehicle dealer Geara Enterprises.
The board accepted Paul Gallagher's resignation from the Council on Aging and appointed Cairo Barlow to the Cultural Council and Joseph Amato to the Commission on Disability. Additionally, the town received approval from MassDOT for $479,923.08 in Complete Streets Funding for Central Street design and construction.
