Planning Board backs zoning bylaw amendments ahead of spring town meeting.

Planning Board · Meeting of April 7, 2026

MILFORD — Planning Board sends favorable recommendations on two zoning bylaw amendments to spring town meeting. Chair Jose M. Morais and the five-member board voted four-to-one in favor of each amendment, with one abstention per vote: the first corrects Section 2.5 to align lot widths with frontage minimums in select districts, consistent with the 2002 Lot Shape Factor rule; the second removes Section 2.4.8 because updated Commission wetland regulations render the zoning provision unnecessary.

The Board also unanimously approved a site plan waiver for Olympus Gym at 161 E. Main Street, conditioned on architectural confirmation that the largest assembly area will not exceed 6,160 square feet, matching the applicant's existing parking calculations from a prior church approval. Ongoing amendments under consideration include a dedicated gym use category and a food truck bylaw that town officials determined too complex for spring town meeting.
