Milford School Committee approves calendar and three policies

School Committees · Meeting of April 2, 2026

Milford School Committee sets calendar and approves policies while considering middle school eBike ban. The Committee unanimously approved the 2026-2027 calendar with early dismissals for teacher professional development and moved the final school day to June 23 from June 16. Three district policies were unanimously adopted on emergency closings, security camera retention (60-day limit), and gift acceptance (up to $1,500), while professional staff compensation policy was deferred.

Police Chief Tusino raised safety concerns about eBikes, noting 90 percent of accidents occur after school; Chairman Zacchilli and Superintendent Consigli supported a trial ban for the remainder of the year with a policy proposal due May 7.
