Finance Committee orders presentations from five departments on budgets

MILFORD — Finance Committee launches FY2027 budget review, identifies five departments for presentations. Chair Andrew Lizotte and Finance Director Zack Taylor flagged IT, Police, Fire, School, and Building Inspector departments for in-person budget justifications before town spending is approved. Superintendent Anthony Steele reported Milford's enrollment at Blackstone Valley Regional is projected to increase by seven students to 204 in FY2027.
BVT cut $1.5 million from its budget and limited operating increase to 2.5 percent. The Snow and Ice Department has already spent $1.404 million against its $600,000 budget, overshooting by $804,000, which will be addressed through a warrant article.
