Finance Committee hears FY2027 departmental budgets

Finance Committee · Meeting of April 8, 2026

MILFORD — Finance Committee reviews four departmental FY2027 budget proposals without taking formal votes. Fire Chief Mark Nelson presented a budget built around overtime cuts and two unfilled positions. Police Chief Robert Tusino reported dispatch services for the entire town, with $150,000 in savings from one less vehicle replacement and pending grant funding for dispatch staff.

Building Commissioner John Erickson reported replacing a retiring administrative assistant with a part-time inspector and implementing July permit fee increases to offset the staffing change. IT Director Chris George outlined a budget dominated by software licensing, with consulting costs retained as a cost-effective alternative to permanent hiring.
