Board of Health discusses accessory dwelling unit implementation

MILFORD — Board of Health reviews ADU enforcement and housing safety issues. Director Amanda Wilson and Assessor Jennifer Sclar presented implementation challenges from new state accessory dwelling unit legislation, noting health code enforcement, inspection capacity, and assessment classification questions remain unresolved pending state guidance. The board also reviewed twelve housing violations addressed in January, including an illegal apartment at 6 South Main Street occupied after a fire, and cited eleven trash and recycling violations proactively.

Peak flu season prompted discussion of a potential second clinic, with the Milford VNA to be consulted.
