Board approves retired police vehicle for inspector use

MILFORD — Board of Health approves police vehicle for inspectors. Chair Loriann Braza and member Paul Mazzuchelli unanimously approved accepting a retired police vehicle for code inspectors' use, addressing liability and privacy concerns from personal-vehicle inspections. Police Chief Robert Tusino agreed to transfer a suitable vehicle equipped with proper lettering.
Mazzuchelli cited the precedent of IT's retired cruiser and noted that code enforcement staff face public interaction and potential conflict. The Board also reviewed 2025 activities, which included over 1,000 permits, more than 275 food inspections, and over 400 housing inspections, and discussed persistent trash and recycling violations at rental properties that the department will continue to enforce through warnings and fines.
